Billing

A workspace’s billing lives in the studio under Settings › Billing, which only an admin opens. Each paid plan includes its orders a month: Starter 100, Pro 250 and Business 1,000. An order past them is paid from the workspace’s order balance: orders bought upfront, in packs, that never expire.

A workspace starts on Free, with no card. It includes 25 orders a month, 3 templates, one connected store, one member (the person who made the workspace) and 1 GiB of storage. An order past the month’s 25 is held: it waits until the month turns, or goes ahead at once, oldest first, when the workspace moves to a paid plan. An order balance bought on a paid plan is kept on Free but not spent. Downloading a print’s files without an order counts against the same 25 a month, and once they are used it is refused rather than held; making the print itself has an allowance of its own, 250 a month on Free.

API access and MCP access are add-ons on Free and Starter; see Add-ons.

A pack is a one-off payment through Stripe, plus VAT. The larger the pack, the less an order costs:

Pack Price Per order
100 orders €30 €0.30
500 orders €125 €0.25
2,000 orders €300 €0.15
10,000 orders €1,000 €0.10

The orders are added as soon as Stripe confirms the payment. For more than 10,000 orders at a time, at a lower price, write to [email protected].

Automatic top-up buys a pack when the balance falls below a fifth of it, charging the workspace’s saved card. It is on unless an admin turns it off, and buys the 100-order pack until an admin picks another. A charge the card declines stops top-up until a card is saved or a pack is bought by hand.

With the balance empty and top-up off or stopped, an order past the month’s included ones is held. Held orders go ahead, oldest first, as soon as orders are added, or when the month turns.

On the Free and Starter plans, API access and MCP access are each sold as a subscription of their own; Pro and Business include both. An add-on the workspace already has, by subscription, by its plan or granted by Pixonaut, is not sold again.

Starter and Pro are chosen, and switched between, on Settings › Billing, monthly or yearly; Business is set up with us ([email protected]). The page shows what the move costs before you confirm it. The move is made at once, and Stripe prorates it to the second: you pay the difference now, or it is credited to your account and pays your next invoices. The new plan shows once Stripe confirms it, usually within a minute. Plans are billed on the 1st of the month, the first month prorated.

A move is refused while a payment is overdue (pay the open invoice first), while the plan is cancelling, or when the new plan includes an add-on the workspace still pays for separately (end the add-on first). Moving to a smaller plan keeps everything the workspace made; what is past the new plan’s limits can be read but not added to, and custom domains past its allowance stop serving at once.

An admin cancels in Manage subscription, Stripe’s billing portal, opened from the billing page. A cancelled plan runs to the end of the period already paid for; the workspace then moves to Free and keeps everything it made, with anything past Free’s limits readable but not added to. Until then the billing page says when the move happens, and the plan can be resumed in Manage subscription. A period already begun is not refunded.

When a renewal charge fails, Stripe tries it again over the following days, and the workspace keeps its plan while it does. Until it is paid, the plan cannot be switched. If the payment is still not made when Stripe’s attempts end, the subscription ends and the workspace moves to Free, keeping what it made. A failed payment never suspends a workspace. Change the card in Manage subscription.

A declined automatic top-up stops top-up, as Automatic top-up says; the orders it would have paid for are held.

The billing page lists the workspace’s twelve newest invoices, each with its status (draft, due, paid, uncollectible or void); each opens Stripe’s invoice page, with a PDF to download. Every invoice is in Manage subscription. Prices are in euros, excluding VAT. Checkout asks for a billing address, and a business may give its VAT number: a business in another EU country is then charged no VAT, under the reverse charge.

Credits pay for metered actions, which cost Pixonaut money each time they run: each answer and picture Pixel makes, upscaling a picture, and segmenting one. Each plan grants an allowance on the first of each month (UTC), which ends with the month and does not roll over: Free 50, Starter 1,000, Pro 2,000 and Business 5,000. A new workspace also gets 200 at sign-up. More are bought once, at €0.01 a credit plus VAT, in packs of 1,000, 5,000 or 20,000, from the billing page; bought credits never expire and are spent after the month’s allowance. They are not refunded, and end with the workspace.

What your customers spend on the storefront, such as upscaling a photo they upload, is capped a day: Free 50 credits, Starter 200, Pro 500 and Business 2,000. A workspace whose creator has not confirmed their email address spends no credits.
